"Past the doors of any school are students who have a right, a need, and a desire to have the opportunity to learn."

At UNITE, our core belief lies in giving every student the very best opportunities to learn, and this begins with training the very best teachers and educators. 

While our focus is on urban teaching, our campus chapter's aim serves all pre-service teachers and is twofold:

Professional Development:

First, we professionally develop every member by attending monthly workshops hosted by CPS teachers and administrators, hosting meetings and urban education events on campus, and crafting out own Alternative Spring Break trip every spring to work with urban centers throughout the US.

Community Service-Learning:
Second, we work and learn with the communities surrounding our campus by facilitating tutoring with the TAP in Academy program, and volunteering or co-hosting events with other student groups on campus and around Champaign-Urbana.
